The Balearic Islands are located East of the Spanish mainland, in the Mediterranean Sea. The Archipelago consists of the islands of Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza (the three main islands), Formentera, Cabrera and other minor islands. Situated in the western Mediterranean basin, Majorca is 37 km (23 miles) from Menorca, 81 km (50.3 miles) from Ibiza and about 200 km (124.3 miles) from the Iberian Peninsula. Its area is of 3614 sq km (north-south distance : 76 km/47.2 miles - east-west distance : 96 km/59.7 miles), with over 550 km (341.8 miles) of coastline.
The island displays all the gems of nature on its land. Indeed, the Majorcan landscapes offer an extraordinary diversity : steep mountains, cliffs that meet the sea, green valleys, blooming plains, bays, coves, rocky inlets, beautiful beaches fringed by pine trees… The climatic conditions promote the development of a typical Mediterranean vegetation : oak, wild olive, palm, pine, orange, lemon and almond trees. The variety of colours give the island an unrivalled charm, a serene environment with the subtle perfume of fruits and almond trees.

CLIMATE
The islands privileged location in the western Mediterranean offers a great climatic environment, with hot summers and warm winters. The sun shines more than 315 days per year on the island, the average annual temperature is 18º C (64.4ºF).

If you prefer the cycling at your Leisure option, you have the possibility of renting a bike wich should be reserved on your Booking Form and paid for at the FVE Office on arrival.
